Harrisonburg has plenty of quality chain restaurant and fast food places that offer a breakfast or brunch option. But whether you are just stopping in, or are living in Harrisonburg, there are also plenty of small cafes or restaurants unique to the area that have hidden breakfast and brunch jems for anyone’s taste pallet.

PULP: Don't let the exterior of Shenandoah Bike Company fool you! Within the bike shop a small booth is set up for you to create an acai bowl. For the acai bowl, they have recommended mixes you can try, but also allow you to create your own. First you can decide what fruits, such as banana, blueberry and blackberry you want to add to your acai. Next, you can top you bowl with coconut, almond butter, granola and even dark chocolate. PULP will be a hit with anyone who loves smoothies or nutritious snacks. The best part is, if you order to eat in the store you get to eat your creation out of a wooden bowl with a spoon!

FOOD.BAR.FOOD: Offering Bruch, Lunch and Dinner, this restaurant located downtown Harrisonburg does not have your typical menu. Food.Bar.Food pairs together many different tastes in each of their dishes to give them a one of a kind blend. A favorite breakfast option is the Blueberry-Banana Pancakes. They also have great brunch bowls, which again have all the great tastes that Food.Bar.Food is known for. The interior also adds a plus to the dining experience. With pillows in booths and festive art hanging on the walls, Food.Bar.Food gives of a artsy and fresh vibe, while also remaining cozy and homey.

Cinnamon Bear: Located just right off of JMU's East Campus, Cinnamon Bear is not only a favorite among students, but also locals and visitors. Cinnamon Bear offers quiche, muffins and breakfast bars. They also have great breakfast sandwiches that add a new spin onto classics such as the bacon, egg and cheese.
