Virginia Lights up for the Holidays
It's officially the most wonderful time of the year! Now that the turkey has been eaten and Black Friday shoping is done, we can now focus on Christmas.
A festive way to get in the holiday spirit is to go to a holiday light show. We compiled a list of light shows thrgouhgout the state, so take a look and find what dazzling shows are near you:
-Va. Beach: McDonald's Holiday Lights at the Beach is right on the baordwalk and is nationally recognized as one of the best holiday light shows in the U.S.! The display is open to visitors
-Richmond: Dominion GardenFest of Lights features over half-a-million Christmas lights in a breathtaking 30 acre light display in the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. This marvelous display is open nightly (with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day) from 5-10 p.m. and costs $12 for adults. The intricate light displays are eye catching as they are strung onto the beautiful, natural landscapes of the botanical garden.

-Alexandria: Old Town Alexandria has holiday festivities all season long. From Christmas at Mount Vernon to the Holiday Boat Parade of Lights on the Potomac river, this charming city will be dazzling with holiday cheer all December. Many events are free because just walking through the city itself, you will be able to take in the Christmas sights and sounds of the shops and town square. Fun for all and for every budget.
