Polo, A Different Sunday Experience

Now generally I’m not the type of guy to spend my Saturdays wearing a button down and fraternizing with the upper class at a vineyard, but Kings Family Vineyard in Charlottesville recently may have changed that. Beginning Memorial Day weekend and lasting through mid-October, Kings Family Vineyard hosts the Roseland Polo match every Sunday. The matches are free for all and for a moderate price you can enjoy a variety of bottles from their vast wine selection.
I recently spent my Sunday afternoon with my family at one of the final matches of the season, and let me tell you, it is quite the experience. The sound of so many horses stampeding past you, mixed with the unreal scenery provided by the Blue Ridge Mountains (and obviously a few glasses of the good stuff) left me itching for more.
I’ll forever be a Sundays-are-for-football kind of guy, but the polo matches at Kings Family Vineyard definitely aren’t something I won’t experience again.
